(6:58) - My biggest hopes and expectations are that of a pricedrop to encourage more console sales. 2011 was a rough year for Sony especially due to the hacker issue that cost them a lot of business, let alone the reparations they paid out by the millions to their loyal customers
(7:02) - Oh god dubstep no.. wub wub wub wub.
(7:05) - opening montage about the playstation network and what sony does (it only does everything) - noticed valve hasnt yet made their big announcement (they stated at e3 they would reveal a "third installment" of one of their series'. Hasn't happened yet - Half Life 3? Counterstrike 3? Portal 3? Team Fortress 3? (actually confirmed it wont be TF3) - Jack Tretton talking, crowds in the palm of his hands.
(7:10) - Creators of the very good Heavy Rain on the podium to announce it's new IP - Beyond.. or possibly 3eyond.
(7:15) - This looks like an awesome horror movie.. wait it's a game? Heavy Rain dips into scifi with Beyond.
(7:21) - oh god no they mustve heard me when i said Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion XL was a much needed Super Smash Bros Clone - now there's Playstation Allstars Battle Royale - starring Kratos, parappa the rapper, fat princess, sly cooper and that.. clown.. dude.. from twisted metal.. sweet tooth - thats it
(7:26) - they played a full demo of Playstation All stars - game looks AWESOME. Controls look smoother than CNPTEXL. They announced two new characters to join the list.. but somehow I didn't see either of them :p
(7:29) - seems the big thing sony is pushing is games that play on both the ps3 and the vita - and games that have crossplay multiplayer. This is something that gives the WiiU a run for its money.
(7:33) - Playstation Plus revamp announced - as a PS+ member I love the feature and find it more than worth the cost in free titles alone. Basically the difference between now and then is the quality of titles that became cheap or free went from PSN to retail titles. Also we finally see a freebie given out - a full year of PS+ - good job guys. You win the convention already.
UPDATE - Hulu, netflix, and youtube compatibility - thats how you do it guys.
(7:39) - Time for a preview of Assassins Creed 3, which is somewhat cross compatible with the PSVita title in that they unlock bonuses if you link them.
(7:42) Gameplay for Assassins Creed 3 looks pretty - also enjoy the period they chose for this one - the game wasn't on my radar before but now it might be hard to avoid picking this one up.
(7:46) - Another series I'm not big on is Far Cry - but with this third installment they introduce 4 player co-op mode. I really hope they're going to announce the 3D glasses that allow for same-console co-op soon.
(7:49) - 4 player coop mode introduced with map editor for FarCry 3.. nothing special there. Time to talk PS Move, which you guys should know - I'm very familiar with
(7:52) introduced the Wonderbook - I don't completely understand it.. it's taking a book and turning it into the Eyepet. Jack and the beanstalk was their demo - good thing it wasnt the hunger games..
(7:55) - Wonderbook continues with the announcement that they signed JK Rowling to make Book of Spells and Pottermore.. great.. just dont sign any Twilight interactive books..
(8:00) - The wonderbook thing has been running long, basically it's just the Eyepet.. sorta weird that this innovative technology was public a year before the Move came out..
(8:04) - okay this wonderbook thing has run 12 minutes now. we can move on already.
(8:06) - And they announced a..phone? supposedly their first non-sony phone that will be certified to play playstation suite games.. suck on that eriksson. The new title will be called Playstation Mobile.
(8:10) - God of War 4.. it's exactly what you'd think it is.. I don't understand how many times you can kill Zeus but whatever - it makes people happy.
(8:15) - Very very long God of War 4 demo.. elephant man enemy.. I rofl'd. Oh it's squeezin all of his juices out. Minute Maid Kratos..
(8:23) - damn.. this is one violent demo.. Uncharted: The Last of Us.. here's a tip - if your demo goes over 5 minutes.. it's going too long.
And sony pulled the plug 5 minutes early - but overall it was the strongest one of the 4 conferences today. Lots of goodies to look forward to.
