Mmm but there are cases where free2play has worked wonderfully. TF2 and World of Tanks for example (I have not played WoT just heard it is good). Though I'd say the best example of a working F2P would probably be DOTA 2. Quite possibly one of the biggest games in existence with 561,977 people playing it right now, as in at this moment. Brings in about 3.5 million in revenue per month, not bad for "free". Mind you, its is free on a different level from the facebook/zynga ilk. You don't have to spam your friends or pay 2 win.
Also I like this new short format with the video!
