I was just listening to the Macho Tribute, and while I applaud you guys for giving it the try, but wow, you guys are way off on alot of details.
Macho crushed Steamboat's trachea in Oct/Nov. of 1986. Way before the match was announced for WMIII. This was considered a 'random' weekly special match. And for that to happen, it was a big deal. It was a 5-month build up.
Steamboat was out for months. Kind of like when Taker would disappear for months after getting 'injured'. And only an event as big of a magnitude as WMIII was it ok for it to conclude. Leading up to WM, there were alot of tag matches, and rarely saw Steamboat and Macho in the ring together for long.
For WM8, Flair basically advertised him and Liz already slept together long time ago and he dumped her since he provided photos of him and Liz together. This riled Savage up like crazy.. Flair's Promo:"Savage, remember, She was Mine before she was Yours".
Jake and Savage when they were both heels also fought in SNME in 86. That was an awesome match and way better than anything later. It's on Youtube. Both were heels and Jake got the cheers. It was used to Jake face after.
